ExerciseThe Portie is an athletic, active breed and will do best with an active family. They love to run, play and swim. Fetch is a favorite game whether on the ground or in the water. They love to work which makes them easy to train... they want nothing more than to please their master.

coat A Portie coat can be a wavy or a curly. They have a single layer coat with little to no shedding making them basically hypo-allergenic and great for an allergy sufferer. I would suggest regularly brushing and bathing as they love this and the time spent with you. Grooming is owner specific as to the length you prefer. I suggest maybe four times a year.

SizeThe Portie is a medium sized dog. The males are typically 20-22", 40-50 lbs and the females are typically 18-20", 35-45 lbs.
